Alderaan, Tuesday Fandom Time

Leia made it back to Alderaan safely, promising the shuttle the entire way that if she ever got back to Fandom she would pay a lot more attention at the Flight Club meetings. Happiness at reuniting with Winter and her mother was short-lived, however, when she found out no one knew where her father was. She was sick with worry and dread until Bail Organa sent word that he was safe, having been rescued -- by the same young Jedi who had helped her on Kashyyyk -- from where he'd been imprisoned on the planet Felucia.
When her father told her he'd decided that it was finally time for armed resistance against the Empire and that he was meeting with others to take action, she was eager to be at his side, but for safety's sake Bail wanted her to remain on Alderaan. He did, however, concede to letting her join the meeting by holographic transmission. She wouldn't take no for an answer on that point; there was no way she was going to miss this historic moment.
She looked around and recognized the others who had gathered to meet with her father -- former Senator Mon Mothma of the Bormea sector, and former Corellian senator Garm Bel Iblis. There was also the young man who had rescued her from her confinement on Kashyyyk, and she gave him a nod of greeting. She didn't know who the fair-haired woman in the black Imperial pilot uniform by his side was, however, but her father didn't seem to be concerned with her presence.
"Friends," Bail Organa said, breaking the silence. "Thank you for coming. I know it was a difficult decision. By meeting here, we have all put our lives at risk -- as you have on many occasions already." He gave a knowing look to the young man who had rescued his daughter. "I believe that hope exists for a better future," Bail continued. "This meeting heralds a time in which we won't need to gather in secret -- in which all will live in peace and prosperity, free of the yoke of fear the Emperor has cast over the galaxy. I believe that together we can make your dreams a reality."
Mon Mothma nodded. "We have discussed this at greath length," she said. "We agree that the time for diplomacy and politics has passed. It is time for action."
"Well timed," agreed Bel Iblis in a rough, deep voice.
"Logistically," Bail went on, "it makes sense to join our forces. My wealth can fund such a rebellion, while Garm will provide our fleet and Mon Mothma our soldiers. We've been working at cross-purposes for years now, waiting for the catalyst that would bring us together. I believe we have that catalyst now and that we would be foolish not to take advantage of it."
"All we needed was someone to take the initiative," Mon Mothma said. Now it was her turn for a knowing glance to Leia's rescuer. "We know we have the power of the Force on our side."
"In short," Garm Bel Iblis said, "we've agreed to follow your lead. We'll join your alliance."
"You have saved two of us here already," Leia spoke up. "And if the Emperor thinks he can push us around forever, he's mistaken."
"You're wrong on one point, Princess," came a voice from the doorway. She turned to see Master Kota striding into the room. "The boy saved three of us," he said, placing a hand on the young man's shoulder. "I will join his rebellion, too, if I'm welcome."
"I thought you were passed out in the cargo hold," he said, reaching up to grip Kota's hand.
Kota smiled. "I finally came to."
"It's settled, then," Bail said. "Let this be an official Declaration of Rebellion. Today we vow to overturn the Empire in order that the galaxy and all its peoples will be one day free, be they human or Hamadryas, Wookiee, or Weequay. Every sapient being has the inalienable right to live in safety and to fight for that right if it is ever--"
The sound of a massive explosion cut him off. Leia saw rather than felt the floor shake, and dust rained down from above.
Bail Organa's smile disappeared. He pulled back from the table and faced Leia. "PROXY!" he shouted. "Cut transmission!"
The holographic images of Bail, Mon Mothma, and the rest vanished. "Artoo!" Leia cried. "Bring them back!" She knew her father had severed the transmission to protect her, to prevent her from being seen by whomever was attacking, but she had to know what was happening. The droid whistled and beeped, but could not restore the transmission.
All she could do now was wait to hear from her father that he was safe -- or for an announcement from the Emperor that he and the others had been executed as traitors to the Empire.
