There was something like nervous laughter from Jaina, along with a hand gesture that was somewhere between "noooo" and *flail*.

"You are definitely not a grandmother," she assured her. And unless things straightened up with the stupid timelines, that wasn't happening for another five years and that'd be all Jacen's fault. So Leia would be twenty-one then. That'd be a ton better! "And considering I just managed to convince my version of you that's not happening for a long time, I completely appreciate hearing that out of you."

...She decided not to talk about prom yet. Because then she was going to have to think about who might show up for Leia that wasn't her and wtf.

And there she sounded like Anakin. And the words were both reassuring, considering people back home had married her off mentally years ago, and kind of made her want to say things like You can't tell me what to do with a side of You're not my real mom!

"You are really good at the mom look already, though. Just remember I'm too old for you to ground me for anything," she said. Han would still threaten to ground her at thirty-four, though, so.

"It wasn't that I was too old back then, just that you couldn't really make a grounding stick," Jaina shrugged. "Which was fine for me..."

"I never had to. I wasn't really under parental supervision when I reached the age where that became a thing," she admitted. The one time she didn't come home at night when she was staying with her parents, she'd been twenty and it was because she'd been kidnapped at the time. "I used to sneak out during the day. All the time. Starting from a very young age."

She had no problem giving up that info. Unless future!Leia stayed at home more and didn't leave her young Jedi children in the care of a protocol droid who couldn't possibly keep up with them, those kids would still get to have their fun.
