Leia had managed to finish unpacking, if by unpacking one meant shoving most of the gowns her aunts had sent with her under the bed. The more practical clothing was stowed in the closet, along with a few nicer outfits for when she actually wanted to dress up a little. Such as for dates. Of which she had two this week. ~~She'd wasted no time in giving her relatives reasons flail.~~

At the moment, she was sprawled on her bed, wondering just what she was going to tell her father and Winter (the two totally got different levels of information -- Winter got to hear about the boy roommate and the shirtless boys, for instance) about this place and supposedly long dead Jedi Knights and daughters and nephews from the future. She really needed to get a hold of a student directory and see if she could track down Ben and find out exactly how he was supposed to be her nephew when she didn't have any siblings.

The door was open.

Leia was still on the dazed side from finding out about her brother from Ben. She looked up at Jaina's voice. "I do," she said. "Are you on this floor, too?"

Jaina hitched a thumb in the general direction of 313. "Next door. Hi there, neighbor."

Wouldn't be awkward at alllll.

"Why am I not surprised?" Leia said. She hoped they weren't sharing a wall at least. "Do you have a roommate, too?" Meaning: was there a boy she'd have to give a stern talking to if her motherly instincts kicked in?

"Not anymore. She left a few months back," Jaina replied. "Do you?"

Because she was not above giving any boys a stern talking to because that was her mom.

"Chuck," Leia said. Despite the day she'd had, she couldn't help but grin. "I'm leaving that out when I talk to my father."

Two things about that: 1. Wow, was it hard to shift gears when she said "my father." 2. ...

"You're rooming with Chuck Bass?" This was said with no small amount of horror, especially given that John seemed to ship Chuck with her mother.

"No, the other Chuck," Leia said, noting Jaina's reaction. Chuck Bass had to be really inappropriate -- which just made him more appealing. She decided not to mention her date with him that night, for now at least.

She let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. "Don't scare me like that. I'm supposed to be doing that to you."

...Yeah, this? With Leia being the one scaring Jaina? Was pretty much the way the rest of Jaina's life was going to go.

"Is there something I should know about this Chuck Bass?" Leia asked. Innocently.

"He's a jackass," Jaina frowned. To be perfectly fair, this was mostly based on rumor and the fact that he was a jerk to her when she was seven. "I start to think he's okay right until he hits on me, and I don't need his diseases."

"I'll keep that in mind," Leia said. No, no she wouldn't. "My roommate Chuck doesn't seem like that at all. He's sweet. And promised to make himself scarce whenever I needed the room to change."

"I like this Chuck," Jaina said immediately. "I'm having a conversation with my mom about her boy roommate. This is not something I ever thought would happen."

"Try being on the other side," Leia said. "I'm talking to my daughter about my boy roommate. But that's hardly the strangest thing to happen to me today."

"What else happened?" she asked, leaning in the doorway like she'd seen someone do it a million times. She was almost afraid to ask that question, but it was better than hearing it on radio.

And oh yes. She would be listening to radio.

Then she'd hear all about Leia's date tonight, too!

"I met Ben," Leia said, leveling her gaze at Jaina. "And he told me about my twin brother and my real parents." Except for names, but she was hoping she could pry those out of Jaina.

"I figured he'd be around sooner or later. Is this where you grill me for further info?" Jaina asked, looking amused. She knew how this went, she was just usually on the other end of it.

Jaina was on to her already. Definitely her daughter.

"You can't expect me to find out my brother and parents are Jedi and not want to know everything," Leia shrugged.

"Trust me, I get it. And I had a lot of the pieces already when I got here," Jaina said. She, for instance, had recognized her uncle when he greeted her immediately after she got to Fandom, rather than having to find out she even had one. "It's just really complicated, especially with all the timelines."

"All seven of them," Leia said, remembering what Ben had said. "But I've changed mine just by coming here, haven't I? It's already altered, so there's no reason to keep anything from me now."

She doubted Jaina would buy that, but she had to try.

Jaina frowned, thinking. "Eight now," she corrected. Yes, she kept track of these things. She knew them in chronological order, too. "There are some things I can tell, but some things you might want to be surprised. And some isn't mine to tell."

And some was seriously painful and she hoped to never have to get into that.

"Depends on if the surprise is good or bad," Leia grumbled. "I'm still trying to figure out just how much I should tell my father. Or Winter."

"I didn't tell you or Dad about what was going on here for months," Jaina shared. "And I only did then because he was coming for Parents Weekend and I had to. This place is insane." Did that go without saying?

"I'm not sure insane begins to cover it," Leia said wearily. "But it can't get much more crazy than this, can it?"

Ha.

How to put this delicately?

"It's only day three," said Jaina. "You'll learn."

"Just as long as you don't tell me I'm a grandmother, too," Leia said. That was way too much for a 16 year old to grasp.

Though she'd probably have to, come the next time AU kids showed up.
